Moscow, SANA- The Russian General Staff announced on Monday that 169 sorties against 484 positions for terrorist organizations in Syria were carried out during the past three days.
RT website quoted Lt.Gen. Sergey Rudskoy of the Russian General Staff as saying that intelligence reports confirm that ISIS terrorist organizations transferred about 2000 terrorists along with a number of armored vehicles and vehicles equipped with heavy machine guns to Deir Ezzor last week in an attempt to control the city.
Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Gen. Maj. Igor Konashenkov said earlier on Monday that Russia has no plans for establishing a new airbase in Syria, contrary to what some Western media outlets claimed.
Konashenkov said that there are no new bases or extra airport to serve as a takeoff point for Russia warplanes in Syria, and there are no plans to establish such facilities.
Russian Air Force began on September 30 launched strikes against ISIS terrorist’s sites in Syria and targeted infrastructure facilities affiliated to them including workshops for making shells and explosive devices and command centers, arms depots, fuel tanks and training bases.
