Solution to the crisis in Syria is political- Iran

Tehran, SANA- The crisis in Syria could not be solved militarily, but through a Syrian-Syrian dialogue, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaber-Ansari said.

In a press conference on Monday, Jaber-Ansari added that regional countries which have an influence in the regional changes could help finding a solution to the crisis in the country.

He said that political track for solving the crisis in Syria has been launched as two rounds of international talks have been held on the Syrian issue in Vienna, Austria, on October 30th and November 14th, asserting that a third meeting is likely to be held soon.

He pointed out that members of the Syrian opposition are not in a harmonious and solidarity sate as they compete with each other.

Earlier, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian expressed Iran’s rejection of the Syrian opposition’s conference held recently in Riyadh and the formation of an opposition delegation by the Saudi Arabia.

Abdollahian pointed out that this opposes Vienna agreement, reiterating that solving the crisis in Syria is a political one and based upon a Syrian-Syrian dialogue between the government and an opposition which believes in the political solution.
