Hasaka Governor discusses with ICRC enhancing cooperation in the field of services

Hasaka, SANA- Hasaka Governor Eng. Mohammad Za’al al-Ali discussed with a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) ways of enhancing cooperation in the field of services, especially in health and water sectors.

Al-Ali stressed that service departments in Hasaka are working at full capacity despite the difficult circumstances, praising cooperation by the international organizations to improve the services provided to locals, particularly in terms of promoting the work of water sector and alleviating the effects of war on citizens, expressing Hasaka Governorate’s readiness to facilitate ensuring implementation of the Committee’s work plan.

For his part, representative of water affairs at the ICRC, Yassin al-Bashir said that the committee ended a study provided by the Directorate of Health in Hasaka for the maintenance and rehabilitation of the National Hospital and the children’s Hospital in Hasaka and the National Hospital in Ras al-Ain, noting that work will begin early next month through the rehabilitation of many departments in the medical facilities and supplying the province with quantities of medicine.

The head of the delegation said that ICRC in cooperation with the Water establishment in Hasaka is currently mending and cleaning the water tanks in al-Safan dam which supplies Qamishli city with water.

The sewage network in a number of neighborhoods in Qamishli city will be replaced, the head of the delegation said, adding that a number of water submersibles and electric groups will be offered for Alouk water project that feeds Hasaka city.

Public hospitals in Hasaka city, Qamishli and Ras al-Ain received last August three groups of medicine provided by ICRC including sterilization tools, surgery tools, anesthetics and bandages.
