Hasaka, SANA- Al-Ihsan charity association in Qamishli city completed distribution of 2600 food rations to families affected by terrorism in Tal Hmeis, Tal Ma’arouf and al-Jaza’a areas in Qamishli countryside.
Head of the association Awad al-Harou said in a statement to SANA that distributing aid began earlier this month, noting that every food ration contains rice, legumes, oil, sugar and tinned food.
Al-Harou emphasized that the association seeks to provide the largest possible number of families affected by terrorism who are staying currently in Qamishi countryside with food and health aid in addition to hygiene kits.
Al-Harou added that the association recently started registering the names of orphans in Qamishli city and its countryside in preparation for launching orphans’ sponsorship project early next year after getting approval from the Ministry of Social Affairs.
During summer, al-Ihsan Charity Association distributed quantities of food and health items to needy families in Qamishli and its countryside.
3500 non-food items distributed to families in Hasaka
The relief subcommittee in the northeastern Hasaka province distributed during the last week 3500 non-food items provided by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to families in need.
Elias al-Dahir, an official in the committee, said that distributed amount includes 300 entertainment collections which were granted to the psychological support center in Hasaka and Qamishli, 180 waterproof insulations, 3050 soap boxes.
He noted that around 48,000 food packages offered by the World Health Organization (WHO) will arrive to Hasaka during the next week.
