New York, SANA- The 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly kicked off on Monday.
In his opining speech, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon called on effective and key parties to exert more efforts to find a solution for the crisis in Syria.
He urged Europe to do more on the immigration issue, announcing that on September 30th a meeting will be held to adopt a thorough approach to face the refugee and immigration crisis.
For his part, President of the General Assembly Mogens Lykketoft urged the international community to unite efforts in combating terrorism and extremism, calling for intensifying international efforts to end the suffering of the Syrians and addressing the root causes of the refugee crisis.
