Hasaka, SANA- The total amount of the marketed grains which had been delivered to the grains marketing centers in all the Syrian provinces hit 407 thousand tons of wheat and 67 thousand tons of barley, 70 percent of which came from the northeastern Hasaka province.
Director of the General Establishment of Grains Marketing and Manufacturing Majed Hmaidan told SANA reporter that the establishment has opened 29 centers of wheat purchase across the country and the purchase lists are sent to the branches of the agrarian banks in three days to pay the value of the marketed grains to the farmers.
Earlier, Minister of Agriculture Ahmed al-Qadiri indicated that there are obstacles facing the marketing process, particularly in the provinces of Aleppo and Raqqa where the terrorists prevent the farmers from transporting their production to the grain-receiving centers.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Agriculture had expected that wheat production will reach 3 million tons.
