Damascus, SANA- Defense Minister Gen. Fahd Jassem al-Freij stressed that the Syrian Army had managed to stand in the face of Takfiri terrorism and colonial projects, offering great examples in sacrifice and heroism that will be remembered by generations to come.
Minister al-Freij told the Syrian TV on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of establishing the Syrian Arab Army that the Syrian Army has stood up to everyone who sought to tamper with Syria’s sovereignty stemming from its absolute belief in victory.
Al-Freij added that the American-Zionist project failed thanks to the steadfastness of the Syrian Army.
Gen. Al-Freij stressed that the Syrian Army has protected Syria’s sovereignty and independence and played a prominent role in protecting the Syrian territory and the dignity of its people, offering convoys of martyrs and great sacrifices in the face of major challenges and fierce aggression.
He pointed out that since its foundation in 1945, the Syrian Army has been an army for the Arab nation, defending Arab issues, rights and dignity, expressing confidence in an inevitable victory in the war against terrorism.
Al-Freij hailed the role of national media in clarifying the truth and exposing conspirators.
