Damascus, SANA – Damascus University and Academy of Social Sciences in Lodz in Poland signed a scientific cooperation agreement that aims at upgrading joint cooperation in the fields of scientific researches and research projects as well as exchanging teaching and administrative staffs and students.
The agreement signed Monday by Rector of Damascus University, Mohammad Hassan al-Kurdi, and deputy Rector of Lodz Academy, contained exchanging members of faculty members and researchers for giving lectures and consultations as well as participating in the scientific researches, symposia and conferences, in addition to exchanging students, university book and scientific publications.
Al-Kurdi clarified that this agreement comes in the framework of the efforts exerted by Damascus University for boosting relations with the scientific institutions and international academies, as it is also a result for the visit paid by the Syrian delegation to Warsaw two months ago with the aim of boosting scientific cooperation relations with scientific institutions in Poland.
He pointed out that the agreement allows the University to benefit from the scientific and academic expertise in the valuable domains the Academy is famous for in a way that contributes to qualify a distinguished scientific cadre, particularly in IT.
For his part, Deputy Rector of Lodz Academy pointed out that the international cooperation tops the interest of his Academy, which is bound by close relations with 100 universities in Europe, Latin America, North America and the Middle East, clarifying that this agreement constitutes the beginning of a fruitful cooperation between the two sides in the field of higher studies with the aim of upgrading the qualifications of the graduates in different specializations.
He added that the Academy includes 20,000 students and teaches 100 specializations in the first stage of academic education, Master degrees and doctorates, noting that the Academy is famous for IT, Humanities, Medicine and Architecture.
