Residents of Ghweiran neighborhood in Hasaka return to their homes after expulsion of ISIS terrorists

Hasaka, SANA – No sooner had the army and the national support groups announced re-establishing control over almost all parts of Ghweiran neighborhood in Hasaka city than hundreds of residents started to return back.

The last ISIS terrorists’ positions in the building blocks surrounding the cemetery on the southeastern outskirts of the neighborhood and other areas have been confirmed eliminated on Thursday.

The army operation there was reported to have lasted 5 days in which dozens of ISIS terrorists were killed, most of them were of foreign nationalities.

SANA reporter in Hasaka city, located in northeastern Syria, spoke to some of the residents, who said they were proud of the heroism of the army members and their sacrifices in the course of hunting down ISIS terrorists who infiltrated some neighborhoods in the city few weeks ago.

They expressed happiness over being able to return safely to their homes, renewing their full support for the army until re-establishing security and stability throughout Hasaka city.

Meanwhile, Hasaka Governor Mohammad Zaal al-Ali called on all the residents to return to their homes, asserting that the maintenance teams will immediately start work to fix the damaged infrastructure and main services facilities.
