Cabinet discusses suggestions for regulating market prices

Damascus, SANA – The Cabinet on Tuesday discussed suggestions for regulating prices in the market and steps for improving productivity in various sectors, in addition to enhancing cooperation with friendly countries in the fields of economy and development.

Chairing a weekly Cabinet session, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi said that the agreements signed on Tuesday between Syria and Iran will benefit both countries, and that their implementation will be carried out via a central committee, adding that these agreements focus on providing the needs of the Syrian people, specifically petroleum products.

Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs, Minister of Local Administration Omar Ghalwanji, reviewed the efforts being made to provide the needs for the industrial zone in al-Sheikh Najjar area in Aleppo, and to revitalize industrial production in general, in addition to reviewing relief efforts, the precautionary steps being taken to deal with communicable diseases, and the efforts towards providing drinking water during summer.

The Cabinet approved a number of memos, including one on contracting shipping containers workers in Tartous harbor and one on extending the permission given to private universities to use school facilities in Damascus after the end of school hours.
