Syria’s men and women teams third at ISSF Tennis Championships in Indonesia

Jakarta, SANA – Syria’s men’s tennis team won the third place in groups competitions at the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) International Tennis Championships in Palembang, Indonesia.

The two-member team, who included Amer al-Naw and Yacoub Makhzoumeh, came third after losing to the Indonesian team 2-0 in the semi-final leg.

The national women’s team also came third after losing to the Indonesian team 2-0. Aya Khalaf, Carmen Nahhat and Maria Issa played in the competitions.

Indonesia won the first place in men’s and women’s competitions, ahead of Malaysia and Oman, respectively.

Syria, Indonesia, Malaysia and Oman were among the 11 teams that took part in the competitions. The other teams included Tunisia, Lebanon, Uganda, Tajikistan, Maldives, Bangladesh and Cameroon.
