Patriarch Yazigi: Syrians will remain in their land despite attempts to shake their sense of belonging

Damascus, SANA- Greek Orthodox Patriarch John X Yazigi presided upon an Easter mass held on Monday at the Mariamite Cathedral of Damascus.

The Patriarch affirmed in his sermon that Syrians will remain in their land despite all attempts to shake their sense of belonging, stressing the importance of finding a peaceful political solution for the crisis in Syria.

He also called for the immediate release of the abducted bishops John Ibrhaim and Paul Yazigi who were abducted by terrorists in Aleppo nearly two years ago, along with all the people abducted in Syria, appealing to the world to look for the truth of the events taking place in Syria.

The Patriarch called upon Syrians abroad to support their brethren in the homeland, praying to God to bring peace to Syria and praying for the souls of the martyrs who sacrificed themselves for the sake of Syria and its people.
