Florence, SANA – The National Union of Syrian Students branch in Italy held on Monday with the participation of the European Solidarity Front for Syria a symposium in Florence, Italy, about the events in Syria and the systematic terrorism targeting the Syrian government and people.
Wassim Mirshid, the head of the branch, gave a presentation on Syria’s civilization and culture, pointing out to the terrorist acts which damaged archeological sites in Syria, saying such criminal acts target the cultural and historic heritage of all of humanity, and thus those who perpetrate these crimes must be stopped, and Arab, regional, and western states that support and finance them must be pressured into ceasing their support for terrorism.
For their part, the Italian students attending the symposium affirmed the strength of Syrian- Italian relations which can’t be affected to some political stances, affirming the importance of strategic positions of both countries which played a huge role in the history of cultural exchange and trade among civilizations.
