35 volunteers from the Syrian Civil Defense arrive in Qatar

Doha, SANA-The first group of the Syrian Civil Defense Foundation (White Helmets) team arrived in the Qatari capital, Doha, Saturday, to participate in a special training program supervised by the Qatari International Search and Rescue Group of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) .

The training program will be held from February 23 to March 20, 2025, and comes within the framework of enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise between the two sides in the fields of search and rescue.

The program includes a set of training courses and field exercises, which aim to develop the skills of the Syrian Civil Defense in dealing with disasters and humanitarian crises, and includes intensive field training to improve the team’s skills in search and rescue operations and dealing with emergency situations.

The program provides an opportunity to exchange knowledge and expertise between the two teams, which enhances the capabilities of the Syrian team in facing humanitarian challenges.

It also includes workshops and educational sessions aimed at exchanging knowledge on best practices in the fields of search and rescue.

This training program is an important step in enhancing the capabilities of the Syrian team in dealing with disasters and humanitarian crises, and reflects Qatar’s commitment to supporting humanitarian efforts and enhancing international cooperation in the fields of search and rescue.

“We are proud of this cooperation, which reflects our commitment to providing support and training to the White Helmets heroes, who are making tremendous efforts in dealing with disasters and humanitarian crises.” Major Khaled al-Humaidi, Commander of the Qatari International Search and Rescue Group, said.

In turn, Raed al-Saleh, Head of the Syrian Civil Defense, said: “We are proud of the partnership with the Qatari Search and Rescue Team,” stressing that this partnership represents an important strategic step to enhance the capabilities of the Syrian Civil Defense teams (White Helmets) and develop skills in the fields of search and rescue.

Al-Saleh thanked the State of Qatar, its government and people, and the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) , for their continuous support for humanitarian efforts, looking forward to more cooperation to serve affected communities and support everyone who needs help in Syria.
