Damascus, SANA- Vice-President of Syrian Arab Republic, Faysal Mikdad, met Wednesday Director General of the Arab Relations’ Department at the Palestine Liberation Organization, Anwar Abdul Hadi, and discussed with him the ongoing Israeli escalation against civilians in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Mikdad stressed the Syrian Arab Republic’s firm position in supporting the Palestinian cause and the right of Palestinian people to regain their legitimate rights and establish their independent state on their land.
He also underlined the need to stop the brutal attacks, war crimes and genocide committed by the Zionist occupation entity against the Palestinian people, especially in Gaza Strip and West Bank, which continue and expand to other countries in the region as a result of the support and protection provided to it by the United States of America.
Vice President affirmed the need for all countries to assume their moral and humanitarian responsibilities to stop these crimes, ensure that the Israeli occupation authorities are held accountable for them, and stand by the Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights.
Abdul Hadi, for his part, talked about the developments on the Palestinian scene in light of the escalation of the criminal acts of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, and the attempts of the Israeli entity to expand its aggression in order to ignite the region.
He also highlighted the Palestinian side’s appreciation for Syria’s principled stance in support of the Palestinian issue.
