Russia condemns US aggression in Syria and Iraq, requests an emergency UNSC meeting

Moscow, SANA- Russia condemned the US aerial aggression on sites in Syria and Iraq and called for holding an emergency UN Security Council meeting to discuss the issue.

We strongly condemn the US –Britain blatant aerial aggression against sovereign countries and we seek to urgently look into this emerging situation through the UN Security Council, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website.

The statement noted that the US aerial aggression in Syria and Iraq led to the destruction of civilian infrastructure and casualties among the civilians.

The statement added that the US airstrikes have once again demonstrated the aggressive essence of the US policy in the Middle East and its complete disregard for international law.

The statement accused the US of deliberately inflaming the conflict in the region and denounced the obedient participation of the British Royal Air Force in the US airstrikes.

The statement referred to London’s support of the provocative actions of Washington.
