CBS Governor discusses with Iranian counterpart bilateral financial and banking cooperation

Tehran ,SANA- The Governor of the Central Bank of Syria (CBS),Mohammed Issam Hazima, discussed on Friday with the Governor of Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Mohammad Reza Farzin, aspects of financial and banking cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, held with the participation of the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Muhammad Samer Al-Khalil, the two governors discussed creating and strengthening bilateral banking ties, which will be considered as a service for future trade movement between Syrian and Iranian merchants, and for the steps taken regarding the joint bank to be established in Syria.

It was also agreed to form a permanent technical committee to follow up on all work between the CBS and CBI; with this committee meets periodically to overcome all obstacles that currently exist or that may appear.
The talks also dealt with finding effective mechanisms for trade exchange in local currencies between the two countries.

The two sides stressed the need to accelerate the procedures for implementing the MoUs according to specific timetables, increase trade exchange, open new horizons for cooperation between the banks of the two countries, and benefit from shared experiences in this field.
