Moscow, SANA- Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed his country’s rejection of killing children, women, and the elderly, leaving hundreds of thousands of people without shelter, food, water, or medical care in a true humanitarian catastrophe.
“Russia is observing the tragic situation in the Middle East with great concern, and its position on the conflict is known and has been expressed very clearly more than once, and it is not based on exploiting the current tragic events in the Palestinian territory, but rather is based on the UN Security Council resolutions that stipulate a two-state solution”, during his meeting with clerics in Moscow on Thursday, Putin said.
Putin pointed out that the main task today is to stop the violence and bloodshed, to prevent the escalation of the crisis, which threatens to have serious, dangerous and devastating consequences, and these consequences are not limited to the Middle East alone.
Putin noted that there are attempts by some Western powers to provoke further escalation, to attract the largest possible number of other countries and peoples into the conflict, and to provoke a great wave of chaos and religious hatred not only in the Middle East but much beyond that, by playing on the national and religious feelings of millions of people.
