Syrian-Russian cooperation at OPCW refutes Western slander against Syria_Shulgin

Damascus, SANA- Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the OPCW, Ambassador Alexander Shulgin, gave a presentation on cooperation between the Syrian and Russian missions to the organization to confront the lies and slanders of the US and its Western allies against Syria and attempts to politicize the work of this organization.

“The US is doing its best to strengthen the unipolar order and is trying to portray itself as a champion of peace and justice, in contrary to its reality”, ambassador Shulgin confirmed during a symposium organized Monday by the Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates at the al-Assad National Library in Damascus.

He pointed out that the representatives of Syria and Russia were able, through joint work at the OPCW, to confront the attack of Western countries, whose representatives repeatedly tried to harm Syria and Russia using different approaches and pretexts.

Shulgin referred to the Syrian-Russian continued defense of the two countries’ sovereignty and interests through close bilateral cooperation since 2015 to date.

During the symposium, a documentary video showed a number of evidences that refute Western allegations and accurately reveals that terrorist organizations and an organization called the White Helmets carried out a pre-prepared play claiming that civilians were exposed to chemical weapons, and this is what was not proven in the pictures and videos that documented the alleged incident.

Ambassador Shulgin pointed out that Syria was able to expose the falsity of the claims of the figures who claimed to have witnessed this alleged incident.

He explained that France also tried to falsify the facts through a documentary titled “The Cave” which Syria and Russia responded to through a documentary refuting Western lies and showing the nature of the evidence alleged by them in the incident of the use of chemical weapons in Douma.
