Rome, SANA- Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Eng. Mohammad Hassan Qatana, stressed the importance of cooperation between countries to face the impact of climate change and achieve food and water security.
Qatana’s remarks came in a speech at the 43rd Session of the FAO Conference.
The Agriculture Minister underlined to the need to enhance intra-regional trade and implement regional programs and projects.
He highlighted the importance of holding the conference at this stage to confront the impact of climate changes and strive to achieve food and water security.
Qatana called for enhancing cooperation to reach better production, environment, and nutrition for the population and raise the efficiency of using natural resources, reducing negative impacts on biodiversity, and supporting the income of small producers.
The conference, which started yesterday in the Italian capital, Rome, will continue activities until June 7th, and it will include a review of the organization’s reports related to water management, the state of agro-food, the medium-term plan for the period 2022-2025, the program of work and budget for the period 2024-2025 and regional reports
