Damascus, SANA- Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Dr. Amr Nazir Salem, discussed with Chairman of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID), Mohamed Bin Obaid Al Mazrooei and the accompanying delegation developing the trade relations, the proposed investment opportunities and the joint cooperation in the forthcoming stage to serve the Syrian consumers and their food security.
Dr. Salem expressed the ministry’s readiness to provide all facilitations to develop the work and constructive cooperation with the Arab Authority for the establishment of joint projects that benefit all parties.
Dr. Salem indicated to the negative repercussions of the unjust economic sanctions imposed on Syria and their impacts on all economic sectors, particularly on the high costs of the materials and price which constitute a burden for the Syrian consumers.
For his part, Al Mazrooei briefed in the Syrian side on the work of the Arab Authority, its investments and development during the past few years and the available potentials to face the increasing demand on food and enhancing marketing mechanisms and trade exchange.
He expressed the desire to increase the Authorities’ investments in Syria in cooperation with the governmental institutions and establishing new projects.
