Sabbagh to Lebanese delegation: The deep-rooted relations between the two countries are strong to be spoiled by conspiracies

Damascus, SANA-Speaker of the People’s Assembly, Hammoudeh Sabbagh, met on Sunday a delegation from the Lebanese Parliament headed by Ali Hassan Khalil, Head of the Lebanese-Syrian Parliamentary Brotherhood and Friendship Committee.

The Lebanese delegation who visited Damascus, that offered condolences to the People’s Assembly and the Syrian government and people over the earthquake catastrophe.

During the meeting, Sabbagh stressed that the Syrian and Lebanese peoples are unified by the unity of blood and a common destiny, and together they were exposed to the same series of wars and aggressions, affirming that the deep-rooted relations between the two brotherly countries are strong to be spoiled by the conspiracies and schemes of the forces of conspiracies.

Sabbagh pointed out the importance of such visits in continuing to consolidate parliamentary relations, exchanging experiences, activating the work of the Parliamentary Fraternity Committee, and adopting parliamentary diplomacy to open broader horizons in all fields, in addition to working to raise the level of coordination between the two Parliaments in regional and international conferences for the benefit of the two countries.

The Speaker thanked the Lebanese Parliament and people for their stance in support of Syria, their fraternal and humanitarian participation, and their offering of assistance with all available human and material capabilities to Syrians affected by the quake.

For his part, Khalil expressed, on behalf of the delegation and the Lebanese Parliament, his full solidarity with Syria and its people, following the disaster of the devastating earthquake that hit Syria.

In turn, the members of the Lebanese delegation expressed their deep condolences and full solidarity with Syria .
