President al-Assad meets members of Lebanese-Syrian Parliamentary Brotherhood and Friendship Committee

Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad met members of Lebanese-Syrian Parliamentary Brotherhood and Friendship Committee who arrived in Syria Sunday morning on a solidarity visit with the Syrian people.

President al-Assad said that Syria appreciates Lebanon’s official and popular humanitarian response and support for the government’s efforts in providing emergency relief to the earthquake–affected people ,  in addition to receiving aid coming to Syria from various bodies via the Lebanon’s airport and ports.

President al-Assad considered that the relationship between Lebanon and Syria is primarily a brotherly relationship between the peoples of the two countries, and this is the basis on which official policies should be formulated to serve the common interests of the two peoples and addresse the challenges they face.

The committee members, for their part, noted that they headed for Syria to express their firm support and the deep solidarity between the Lebanese and Syrian people.

Furthermore, the delegation attached great importance to enhance the bilateral ties in all areas to serve the interest of both peoples.
