Al-Baath University participates in session on Climate Action

Homs, SANA- Given the vital role of universities in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a universal call to protect the planet and address climate change, Dr. Lina al-Naddaf at Al-Baath University has participated online in “Climate Action through Innovation, Implementation and Inclusive Multi-level Governance” session held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

This came in response to an invitation by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in India and in completion to a previous participation in World Sustainable Development Summit held last February.

Dr. al-Naddaf stated that the meeting has proposed solutions to a set of issues, the most significant of which are innovations leading to urgent action on climate change mitigation and adaptation, transformation pathways in climate change taken by countries at all stages of political, social, cultural and environmental, taking into account the Global Assessment process, and how to enhance Multi-level Governance bedsides promoting local solutions.

The session has been organized and attended by TERI along with The Institute of Energy Economics, Japan (IEEJ), Centre on Global Energy Policy, Columbia University, Forest Peoples Programme and President of Zenab For Women Development Organization.
