Syria, UAE discuss means to enhance educational cooperation

New York, SANA- Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabbaa, discussed on Monday with his Emirati counterpart, Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, the strengthening of educational and educational cooperation relations between the two countries.

That came during a meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the Transforming Education Summit currently being held in New York.

Minister Tabbaa reviewed the nature of the historic relations binding the two countries.

Tabbaa said that nearly 8,000 schools went out of service due to the war waged on Syria, but education did not stop for a day, adding that the government provides education to all children without exception and in any region.

Minister Tabbaa suggested the possibility of establishing a joint Syrian-Emirati school in Syria that would be a model for inter-Arab cooperation that could teach Syrian and Emirati students.

Minister Tabbaa reviewed the active participation of the Syrians in the competition for the best teacher in the Arab world, which is held by the UAE, and the participation in the Reading Challenge competition held by the UAE Ministry of Education.

He referred to the possibility of exchanging teachers, students, technical and sport teams between the two countries and securing Arabic language teachers to support teaching in the United Arab Emirates and exchange experiences in the field of information technology.

In turn, the UAE Minister of Education, Dr. Al Falasi, expressed the desire to strengthen cooperation relations with Syria, hoping to open new horizons for cooperation and exchange of teachers and teachers who teach in Emirati schools.

Minister Al Falasi talked about the learning resources used by teachers and students in the UAE, the educational platforms project established by the UAE, and the My School project, which enriches the educational process.

 The Emirati Miniser higlighted the importance of studying the idea of establishing a Syrian-Emirati joint school and teaching the Arabic language and promoting its use and mastery in light of globalization to preserve the nation’s existence and its language.
