Mikdad lays a wreath at Monument to the Fallen in the Abkhaz Patriotic War

Sukhumi, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad, accompanied by Foreign Minister of Abkhazia Inal Ardzinba and representatives of the Abkhaz government, laid a wreath at the Monument to the Fallen in the Great Patriotic Abkhaz War in the Park of Military Glory, Sukhumi City.

 This monument is of great important to the Abkhaz people, as it contains the remains of their sons who sacrificed their lives for the independence of their country during the Patriotic Abkhaz War in the period between 1992-1993 as Georgia launched a war against Abkhazia on August 14th, 1992.

Syria’s Ambassador to Russia Riyad Haddad participated in laying the wreath at the monument.

Minister Mikdad and the accompanying delegation also visited Eshera village where Vladislav Ardzinba, the first Abkhazian President, was buried, and laid a wreath at the monument of the late president.
