Moscow, SANA-President of BRICS International Forum, Purnima Anand, considered that the possibility of Russia overcoming the consequences of Western sanctions has become real, due to the openness of the BRICS countries to it.
According to RIA Novosti, Anand, who heads India’s delegation to the Russian Technoprom Forum today, said, “A mechanism for reciprocal transactions in rubles and rupees has been used, and there is no longer a need to use the dollar in reciprocal transactions between Russia and India.
She added that China is also developing a similar mechanism for reciprocal transactions in rubles and yuan, meaning that the BRICS countries are opening up to Russia, which means an opportunity appears for Russia to overcome the consequences of sanctions.
According to Anand, over the past forty years, import and export transactions between India and Russia have grown five times, and that the Russian side today supplies India with large quantities of oil and imports in return a large amount of agricultural products, textiles, medicines and others.
She pointed out that when the special military operation in Ukraine started, India was pressured to stop importing Russian oil, but the Indian side rejected these pressures and stressed that importing Russian oil would not stop.
Anand noted that her country, despite the presence of international sanctions against Moscow, continued its fruitful cooperation with it in all fields.
