Tehran, SANA – More than a thousand Iranian cities, including Tehran, and five thousand towns celebrated Wednesday the 36th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
Senior Iranian officials joined the public in the celebrations, which are held annually since 1979 on February 11, the day when the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini arrived back home after spending more than 14 years in exile.
Participants raised photos of Imam Khomeini, Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei and martyrs and banners depicting the US crimes against the Iranian people as well as photos of the brutal crimes perpetrated by terrorist organizations against the Syrians and Iraqis.
Some 265 foreign correspondents from 94 international media outlets and 1500 local reporters are covering the celebrations.
