Damascus, SANA – 16 Syrian companies specialized in food industry are participating in 2015 edition of Gulfood Exhibition which was opened today at Dubai World Trade Center.
Director-General of al-Saour Group for Industry and Trade, Tareq al-Saour, clarified that it is the fourth time for their group to participate in this exhibition, stressing keenness on taking part in all local and external food exhibitions.
“Despite the current circumstances the country is going through, we are going ahead with producing distinguished industry to prove that Syria is able to overcome all obstacles,” he added.
The Syrian pavilion covers an area of 175 m2 and showcases products of 16 food companies.
The Exports Development Agency and the Syrian Exporters’ Union provided support to the participants, through making contribution up to 50% of total cost, with the aim of giving the opportunity to a larger number of companies to participate in the exhibition and opening new prospects for export growth.
Gulfood is the world’s largest annual food and hospitality trade show. More than 5000 international companies from 121 Arab and foreign countries take part in 2015 edition. Last year, the number of visitors reached more than 80,000.
2015 edition of Gulfood Exhibition will last until 12th Feb.
