Mikdad, Iranian First Vice President discuss means to enhance bilateral economic relations

Tehran, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad, discussed with Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber the reality of bilateral relations between Syria and Iran and means to enhance them to serve the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.

During a meeting held in Tehran Thursday, Mokhber affirmed his country’s willingness to consolidate these relations, particularly the economic ones, to be up to the level of political relations between the two countries.

He noted that the latest visit of President Bashar al-Assad to Tehran constituted a starting point and a work program to advance and strengthen economic relations between Syria and Iran.

Minister Mikdad, for his part, thanked Iran for standing by Syria in the circumstances it is going through, stressing the Syrian government’s keenness to improve relations between the two countries.

Mikdad affirmed Syria’s full support for Iran in all the measures which it has taken to lift the illegitimate US sanctions imposed on it and revive the nuclear agreement in a way that guarantees the interests of its people and their rights in the nuclear field and all other fields, holding the US administration responsible for obstructing the agreement.
