Adraa /1/ power plant back into service, Ministry announces

Damascus Countryside, SANA – The Electricity Ministry announced Tuesday that Adraa /1/ electric power transmission station has been put back into service after more than a year-long halt due to severe damage sustained in terrorists’ attacks.

A source at the Ministry stressed that power supply has been resumed to Adra city and a large number of industrial facilities in the area, including the sugar and gas factories, in addition to 15 private and public factories.

A second stage of repair works will start soon, with all the necessary equipment for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the station are secured at a total cost of around SYP 300 million, the source noted.

Adra power station had been full destroyed and most of its equipment were robbed when terrorist organizations overrun it before the army restored security to Adra city and the surrounding industrial facilities last September.
