Damascus, SANA- Upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad the Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, Defense Minister, Major Gen. Ali Mahmoud Abbas on Monday paid a field visit to an army formation on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr holiday.
Accompanied by senior officers of the General Command of the Army and Armed Forces, Abbas met army personnel in their positions and conveyed to them greetings from President al-Assad, with wishes for health and success for all in performing their national tasks in defending the homeland.
The Defense Minister was briefed by field commanders on the detailed explanation of the missions carried out by our forces operating in this army formation .
The minsiter praised the great efforts made by the Syrian Army personnel in carrying out their combat missions.
He affirmed that victory over the terrorism is near thanks to bravery of the army personnel and the wisdom of the leadership.
The minister also visited injured army personnel in some military hospitals and congratulated them on the occasion of Eid al-Fiter holiday, wishing them a swift recovery.
The Minister hailed the high morale and determination of the injured , praising the great efforts exerted by the medical staff for the injured.
Also on this occasion, military commanders visited martyrs’ graveyards and placed wreaths on behalf of President al-Assad at memorials there.
