Syrian Embassy in Lebanon: We receive all Syrians regardless of their affiliation

Beirut, SANA – The Syrian Embassy in Lebanon affirmed that it receives all Syrian citizens regardless of their affiliation.

This statement came in response to a report broadcast by a Lebanese channel on Monday in which they claimed that a Syrian citizen went to the embassy to get a new passport and that he was insulted and detained by the embassy staff because he allegedly “comes from an area opposed to the Syrian state.”

The embassy’s media office said that the embassy is surprised by what was said in the report, and refutes it entirely, asserting that the embassy is working hard to receive Syrian citizens and process their paperwork regardless of their political or regional affiliations.

The statement stressed that one of the embassy’s top priorities is preserving the dignity of Syrians and defending them if they suffer abuse from any side, affirming that the embassy operates in a transparent and clear manner and is committed to diplomatic standards and laws within the framework of the cooperative and fraternal relations between Syria and Lebanon.

The embassy hoped that media outlets would be accurate and objective in broadcasting news in order to avoid the need to take legal measures.
