Mikdad, Ghalibaf discuss parliamentary ties between Syria and Iran

Tehran, SANA- Foreign and expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, discussed on Monday with Speaker of Iranian Shura council, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, means of boosting cooperation between parliaments of both countries.

The two sides affirmed the need for developing bilateral relations in all domains, particularly in economy and trade in a way that would foil all schemes targeting the region in service of the US-Zionist project.

During the meeting, Mikdad stressed the important role of parliaments in defending rights of people who suffer from occupation and terrorism in addition to the economic blockade.

Ghalibaf, for his part, said the Iranian Shura Council is keen to develop ties with Syria and provide the parliamentary support in this regard as well as following up on the implantation of agreements reached during his latest visit to Syria.
