Moscow, SANA- Chairwoman of the Department of Protective Archeology at Institute for the History of Material Culture (IIMK) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Natalia Sokolova said that Russian archaeologists are conducting a 3D survey of al-Rusafa archaeological site in Raqqa province.
Sokolova told journalists on Friday “our task is to specify the destroyed parts of the site and whether there were bandit excavations, military trenches or mined places at the site, after Russian archaeologists first gained access to the archaeological site.
“We will publish the database on the network or donate it to Syria and UNESCO if it sponsors this site, and therefore reaches the curators, archaeologists and architects,” she added.
