Eight people injured in magnitude 5.7 earthquake, southwestern Iran

Tehran, SANA- Eight people were injured in an earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale that hit southwestern Iran today.

The Iranian Emergency Center reported at least eight people were injured in the earthquake which hit Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, in addition to causing material damage to the property.

The quake hit at a shallow depth of 10 km beneath the epicenter, according to preliminary information.

Rescue teams were deployed to the earthquake-hit area to assess the damages and provide aid for the victims.
