Damascus, SANA- Different amounts of rainfalls were registered in several provinces over the past 24 hours, the heaviest were in Lattakia 167 mm, 60 mm in Aleppo and55 mm in Hama.
In other provinces rainfalls were as follows: 27.5 mm in Tartous, 7 mm in Hasaka and 6.5 mm in Damascus Countryside.
The Meteorology Department expected in its Tuesday bulletin that rains will continue to fall over the coastal and northern areas and they will later expand to cover most areas as they will be heavy and accompanied by thunder sometimes and mixed with snow over the mountains.
At night, snow is expected to fall over the areas above 800 meters heigh and torrents are expected in the valleys and slopes.
The temperature will remain slightly lower than average as the country is affected by a low pressure in all layers of the atmosphere accompanied by a polar air front while the wind will be southwestern with a 70-km per hour speed while the waves height will be from medium to high.
Tomorrow, rains will continue and snow will fall over the areas above 600 meters height and temperature will drop from 5 to 8 degrees Celsius.
