Damascus, SANA – Athletes Majd Ghazal, Saleh Mohammad and Mohammad Khaled al-Mohammad were chosen Syria’s top sportspersons of 2014 by the Sports Journalists Committee.
Majd Ghazal has a score of four gold and one silver medals to his name. Those were earned in high jump within the Fourth Asian Beach Games held in the Thai island of Phuket, the Asian Indoor Athletics Championship held in the Chinese city of Hangzhou and the Friendly Championship of Russia Cup, Malaysia Open Athletics Championship and International Moscow Cup.
Swimmer Saleh Mohammad won the second place 88 km Swim Marathon Hernandarias-Parana Argentina, in addition to winning two bronze medals in the 5km and 10 km races of the Asian Beach Games.
Mohammad Khaled Mohammad won a gold medal in shot put and a silver in javelin at the Asian Para Games, a gold medal in shot put within Al Ain International Athletics Meeting in UAE, a gold medal in javelin and a silver medal in shot put at International Athletics Competition in Dubai and a golden medal in shot put in Sharjah.
