Hasaka, SANA-The total areas cultivated with medical and aromatic corps in Hasaka province for the current season have reached up to 31,458 Hectares distributed over the areas of agricultural stability.
Director of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform Directorate, Eng. Rajab Salameh, told SANA reporter that the areas planted with these corps have been distributed as follows: 11,550 hectares of cumin, 16,200 hectares of coriander and 3,700 hectares of fennel flower.
Most of these corps have been rainfed, especially in the northern regions of the province, and in the countryside of Hasaka and Qamishli cities.
Rajab added that these corps are marketed in the province’s local market, and a part of them is marketed in other province’s markets.
Its noteworthy that during the last season, the areas planted with medical and aromatic corps in Hasaka province have amounted to 24,000 hectares.
