Heavy rainfalls expected over coastal regions, snow over mountains

Damascus, SANA- Temperatures will continue to drop to become from 2 to 4 degrees below average as the country is affected by a superficial low air pressure accompanied by southwestern air currents in the upper layers of the atmosphere.

Meteorology Department expected in its Monday bulletin that the skies will be partly cloudy and there will be an opportunity for local showers over separate areas across the country and heavy rains will fall over the mountains whose height exceeds 1400 meters.

The wind will be southwesterly with a moderate speed and active gusts whose speed exceeds 65km/h while the sea waves will be medium to low in height.

In a statement to SANA, weather forecaster Shadi Jawish said that a low air pressure will continue to affect the country as rains will today fall over the coastal areas, and tomorrow will fall over most regions, warning against the active gusts of wind whose speed will exceed 65 km/h today, and tomorrow its speed will reach 85 km/h.

The expected temperatures in some major Syrian cities will be as follows: Damascus 8/4, Daraa 11/4, Homs 10/4, Lattakia 14/9, Tartous 14/10, Aleppo 9/3 and Deir Ezzor 17/5.
