Education Ministry continues training doctors of School Health to ensure implementing approved health protocol

Aleppo, SANA- Within its plan to implement the approved health protocol for ensuring students’ safe and secure return to their schools, the Education Ministry, through its School Health Directorate, continues training the doctors and heads of the school dispensaries in the education directories in provinces through training sessions conducted in cooperation with the Health Ministry and under the supervision of the World Health Organization (WHO).

The courses have expanded recently to include Aleppo province to train doctors and heads of school dispensaries in education directorates in Aleppo, Deir Ezzor and Raqqa for three days to appoint them later as TOT who will hold training later for the health supervisors assigned in these schools.

Speaking to SANA, Director of School Health Department, Dr. Haton al- Tawashi, stated that the training aims at explaining the approved health protocol issued by the ministry to implement it at schools with the beginning of the school academic year, in addition to teaching the school health doctors how to facilitate it for the health supervisors to appoint them as trainers upon assigning the work.

In a similar statement, Aleppo Education Director, Ibrahim Masso, stressed the necessity of informing the health supervisor of their duties and the mechanism of their work which entails supervising the school environment, monitoring the cases and taking all preventive and treatment measures to preserve the safety and health of the students and teachers.

On September 1st, Education Ministry, through the Health School Directorate and in cooperation with the Communicable and Chronic Diseases Department in the Health Ministry and under the supervision of WHO, started to train a team consisting of 160 doctors of school health’s doctors from all provinces for the approved health protocol for returning to school.

On August 20th, the Education Ministry issued the current health protocol on returning to schools, in a preparation for the start of the new school year on September 13th, in terms of the requirements of maintaining the educational level in Syria along with ensuring the safety and health of students and the staff working in the education domain, in light of the preventive measures to tackle Coronavirus (COVID-19).
