Hama-SANA- A new fire erupted in Ayn Hlaqim in Massyaf, Hama countryside and firefighting brigade are struggling to control it after it had extended to thousands of dunums of forest and productive trees.
Head of the town municipality, Ragheb Kousa, said in a statement to SANA that the fire spread to the forests of Ayn Hlaqim in the west of Ayn Shams vicinity lands ,pointing out that strong winds and rough terrain of the region have contributed to the rapid expansion of the fire range and fire lines are being opened to isolate some houses in the district from fire that spreads towards it.
He added that the fire erupted yesterday in Ayn Shams and spread on Monday morning to the lands of Ayn Hlaqim , warning of the spread of fires to the bushes , located towards Hazzour village in the south and southeast , indicating that the extinguishing of fire process requires an additional reinforcements with crews and vehicles of firefighting as the fire is considered very huge.
