Hama, SANA- Firefighting brigades and the civil defense teams in Hama province, with the support from several provinces, have been able to put out a huge fire that erupted in Ain al-Krum area in Hama western countryside and prevented the fire from reaching the locals’ houses in the area.
SANA reporter said that the fire destroyed large areas of perennial trees in the forests and that the fire brigades are still working to extinguish and cool some of the fire spots in the mountains.
The forestry Director announced that the efforts of the firefighting teams and engines that participated in the extinguishing operations had succeeded in controlling the fire by 95 percent. Some of the fire spots in the high mountainous areas are currently being dealt by foot firefighting cadres because fire engines could not enter due to the rocky cliffs, and it is expected to complete the final extinguishing of the fire during the next hours.
