Despite coercive measures, Syria still produces, exports veterinary medicines 

Damascus, SANA- The Ministry of Agriculture announced that it has given 20 technical licenses this year for exporting veterinary medicines and formulations with different pharmaceutical shapes including therapeutic medicines in the form of injections for the cows, goats and horses and therapeutic medicines in the form of syrups and solutions for the poultry and ruminants.

Head of the Veterinary Medicine Directorate at the Agriculture Ministry, Dr. Ziyad Nammour told SANA delegate that over the over months of the current year the Ministry has given 20 technical licenses for exporting veterinary medicines and formulations, in addition to medicines in the form of powder and feed additives (vitamins, mineral salts and amino acids) with a cost estimated at USD 655 thousand.

Dr. Nammour affirmed that all of the exported products are produced by a number of the local factories of veterinary medicines which are authorized by the Agriculture Ministry.

He noted that these medicines enjoy a high quality and they undergo a continued supervision whether at the producing factories or the markets.

He asserted that despite of the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria and the unjust siege, the local veterinary medicine factories have continued their production and they have secured the needs of the local markets of veterinary medicines.

Nammour added that the exportation of veterinary medicines to the foreign markets in a number of countries have also continued as the local products have been exported to Iraq, Sudan, Yemen, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Ukraine, the Sultanate of Oman and other countries.
