Damascus, SANA- Speaker of the Iranian Islamic Shura Council Ali Larijani stressed that Syria is a brotherly and key state in the axis of resistance, underlining the importance of the bilateral relations between the two countries.
In a statement to journalists upon arrival in Damascus International Airport where he was received by the People’s Assembly Speaker Hammoudeh Sabbagh, Larijani said “We will hold important consultations on issues of interest to the Syrians according to the circumstances and developments, in addition to discussing ways to develop the bilateral relations.”
Speaker of the People’s Assembly, for his part, said in a statement that Syria and the Islamic Republic of Iran have common ties, on top, fighting terrorism, conspiracy and siege which are facing the two countries.
He affirmed that the victories achieved daily on the ground are clear evidence on the absolute victory of the strong will in the face of all of these conspiratorial projects.
Before heading to Damascus, Larijani said in a statement to journalists in Tehran that the current developments in the region entail close consultations among the states including Syria, and that his visit to Syria has a parliamentary nature on one hand and it includes different talks on significant issues in the region.
