During this period of the year, the people of Lattakia and visitors from other provinces used to enjoy a distinctive summer atmosphere not only on the beaches but also in popular parks which have become a main destination for a large segment of the Syrians.

SANA reporter in Lattakia noticed the active tourism movement on both sides of Ras Shamra road at the outskirts of Lattakia, where the smell of manakeesh,  and toasted Tannour bread attract visitors who escaped the hustle and bustle of city life.

Yasmine, who is traveling with her friends Heba, Lina and Fatima  to a park, believes that this time of year is an opportunity to take a rest and enjoy the beautiful nature and fresh air, considering that the popular parks provide good services, suitable atmosphere and reasonable prices compared to restaurants and resorts in the city.

Qais Salma, owner of the popular Al-Layth restaurant, said that the movement is active during holidays and starts early in the morning till late at night, where visitors enjoy the tranquility and pleasant atmosphere in the open air.

One of the vacationers, Abu Ibrahim, said that the smell of the bread and freshly baked manakeesh encouraged him and the rest of the passers-by to stop and taste.
