Beijing, SANA- With the participation of the Syrian Arab Republic, the 2nd Belt and Road Forum starts activities on Thursday at the Chinese capital city of Beijing under the title ” Policies Consistency” and it will last for three days.
Presidential Political and Media Adviser Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban will represent Syria at the Forum in which 37 presidents and prime ministers and 150 ministers from all parts of the world are participating.
The importance of Syria’s participation in this international event is due to its historic role on the Silk Road which represents a cultural hub in the region and the road, in addition to the great sacrifices by the Syrian people in the face of terrorism and for realizing security and peace in Syria, the region and the world.
“Road and Belt” initiative was launched by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013 and it mainly focuses on the economic and humanitarian sides and on combating terrorism.
