Vershinin affirms need for coordinating efforts to combat terrorism in Syria

Moscow, SANA- Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin said that a high level meeting on settling crisis in Syria would be held in Astana next April, noting that the date would be set later.

Speaking to Russian journalists in Brussel on Thursday, Vershinin said that Astana meetings are working more effectively today than ever before, pointing out to the effectiveness of Astana format in terms of the advancing efforts for settling the crisis in Syria.

Vershinin affirmed the need for coordinating efforts to continue combating terrorist organizations , especially in Idleb province.

Vershinin said that he had discussed with UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen the importance of Astana formula to push Geneva talks forwards.
