Madrid, SANA- The 39th edition of the International Tourism Fair “Fitur 2019” on Wednesday kicked off at “IFEMA” Trade Fair Center of Madrid with the participation of Syria and 165 states.
The five-day Fair is held over an area of 67,5 thousand square meters with the participation of more than 10 thousand international tourism companies.
Syria’s participation in the fair aims at introducing the Syrian tourist and historical fundamentals and to promote the cultural richness and diverse tourist attractions in the country.
The Syrian delegation participating in the fair embraces Tourism Minister Mohammad Rami Radwan Martini and representatives of airlines and tourism and travel agencies.
In presence of Minister Martini and a number of tourism ministers from many Arab and foreign states and representatives of tourism companies and activities, the fair was inaugurated by King of Spain Felipe VI and Queen Letizia and Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Zurab Pololikashvili and the Spanish ministers of tourism and industry.
Many activities, symposiums, workshops and conferences will be held in the framework of the Fair that would contribute to exchanging viewpoints and experiences and promoting new tourist destinations.
In an interview with Foreign Media Representative at Spanish Local Radio Aurora Moreno, Minister Martini welcomed all of those who are willing to visit Syria, particularly the Spanish media delegations to inspect the reality of events in it and to convey a true image to the Spanish people about the rate of destruction in the areas which had been under the control of terrorist organizations.
Meeting an economic delegation headed by Chairman of Economy and Society Forum in Malaga Julio Andrade, Minister Martini called upon Spanish investors and companies to visit Syria to get acquainted with the fundamentals of the market and the sectors of economy and to participate in the reconstruction stage.
He expressed the Syrian Government’s readiness to provide all the required facilities and services to the Spanish investors and companies.
For his part, Andrade expressed willingness to visit Syria soonest possible to inspect the reality in it and to meet Syrian businessmen and officials in order to set a joint work plan in a way that would serve the interests of the Syrian and Spanish peoples.
Director of one of the private museums in Malaga City Patricia Rueda Berlou welcomed Syria’s participation in the Fair.
Meeting Minister Martini, Berlou affirmed readiness to work on encouraging Spanish businessmen in Malaga City to participate in the reconstruction stage in Syria through different sectors.
She expressed desire to form a medical team embracing the most famed doctors and surgeons in Malaga city and Spain in general to visit hospitals and health centers in Syria to inspect the medical reality in them and to perform surgeries for free.
Minister Martini also met a number of media, tourism and economic figures and President of the UNWTO World Tourism Organization.
