Damascus, SANA – The Higher Committee for Relief (HCR) sent aid convoys to Hasaka city and Efrin area in Aleppo countryside to deliver humanitarian assistance to around 2000 families who were displaced and affected by the terrorists’ attacks targeting Ayn al-Arab city, also known as Kobane, on the northern border with Turkey.
Head of HCR, Minister of Social Affairs Kinda al-Shammat said that 1000 displaced families who took refuge in Hasaka city and another 1000 families who were displaced to Efrin area in Aleppo are the beneficiaries of the aid.
The besieged Ayn al-Arab city, northeast of Aleppo, against which the terrorist organization of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has been for weeks launching attacks in a bid to seize control of it is living a “tragic humanitarian situation,” al-Shammat said.
She noted that there are around 700 citizens who are still trapped inside the city, while thousands of families are stuck along the border, not to mention the families who crossed into the Turkish territory and have been treated badly.
